        Academics

Fellows attend graduate level leadership formation courses on Fridays, taking four courses for a total of 12 graduate level credits. All classes are taught from a thoroughly Christian worldview. Through class discussion, papers, reading analysis, and critical thinking, fellows learn to apply solid leadership principles, as well as practical theology and philosophy, to the workplace, enabling them long-term to impact the city.

        Fellowships

Four days a week, fellows work in challenging job placements in companies throughout Pittsburgh. The companies can be as diverse as software developers to trucking, from fund administration to the food industry. Through these fellowships, fellows will apply Biblical standards to decision making, respond to ethical challenges, demonstrate servant leadership, learn good stewardship of time and skills, and work excellently in the workplace.

The program has six key components for current fellows, and an additional component with our alumni network. Each component uniquely integrates with the others to create a holistic program for the development of Christian business leadership.

What it Means to Be a Fellow

         Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation is important to our own personal well-being and is essential to our ability and readiness to positively engage those around us. Pittsburgh Fellows provides weekly opportunities for fellows to grow spiritually together. Two Monday nights a month fellows meet for a meal, conversation, and a Bible/book study. Fellows also attend church services at St. Stephen's Church, Sewickley and Church of the Ascension, Oakland

         Service

Each fellow gives back to the local community. Fellows give 2-4 hours a week to their local church by helping in various ministries, including children's and youth ministries, music, and outreach. A number of special service opportunities are offered each year so that fellows can invest altogether in the city and communities around them.

        Alumni Network

After graduation, fellows are invited to participate in ongoing professional development and city outreach. Alumni are encouraged to participate in Pittsburgh Fellows social events as well as befriend and mentor later classes. We consider the alumni network to be the proving ground of our program and our hallmark. The program continues to open doors for them, mentor them, and provide resources for them as they discover and move into the roles God has for them in the future.

         Mentoring

Every fellow is engaged in mentoring, giving them opportunities to learn and ask advice from more experienced professionorals. Fellows are assigned a mentor for spiritual and professional guidance. For those who stay in the city following their year as a fellow, alumni are offered an ongoing professional development network of leaders who will meet with them for breakfasts at the Duquesne Club and individually at the request of the alumnus.
